Having seen the original fixture postponed due to heavy rain and thunderstorms it was no surprise that the weather had not improved for Norfolk Ladies II and Eaton for their rescheduled friendly match.
Despite the elements the match went ahead with a four ball better ball, Myhill scoring competition. This format enabled the ladies to play all of the holes in preparation for the County II Finals Day to be held at Eaton on August 13.
Jessica Dixon had an excellent debut and with Sharon Black won an evenly balanced match against Graeme Edwards and Dick Ong by two. Eppie Zandvoort and late call-up Chrissie Owens were unable to get the better of Steve Graham and Neil Harrison, the latter almost recording a score of level par.
Debbie Jary, also making her debut for the county having crossed the border from Suffolk, combined well with Sally Benton to record a win by four against David Marshall and Billy Preedy. Thus under the Myhill scoring system used, honours were even.
