Gary Setchell says he will continue to look for reinforcements to his high-flying King's Lynn Town squad after the failed pursuit of Gresley midfielder James Jepson.

The talented playmaker is said to have rejected a 'lucrative offer' to join Lynn, according to the Moat Ground club's joint-manager Gary Morton.

Setchell has a 'vacancy' in his squad follow the departure of striker Jamie Forshaw this week, and says the hunt for additional talent goes on.

'The lad decided to stay with his club, and fair play to him for that,' said Setchell, who was this week named Evo-Stik Division One South manager of the month for October, when the Linnets racked up an impressive seven wins and draw.

'We are not desperate for anyone, but you see a player who takes your eye and I thought he could add something to the squad and we just didn't get him – that's how it goes and we move on.

'I am going to be looking to bring a midfield player in to give us a little bit of strengthening in there and help us share the workload.

'A lot of players will play a lot of games this year and we just need to be able to mix it up a little bit.'

'We have a number of forwards – we brought Sam Mulready in as well, so we are okay there.'

Setchell's seven-day approach for Jepson came soon after the player's virtuoso display helped Gresley earn a deserved 2-2 draw at The Walks last month. 'After thinking long and hard about the move I have decided to stay at Gresley,' said Jepson.

'My relationship with Gary, Martin (Rowe, joint-manager) and the lads as well as the affinity I have with our supporters and the chairman (Barry North) here means that I just couldn't leave the place.

'I have been very flattered by the interest shown from King's Lynn, but now it's been decided I just want to move on and look forward to getting back to winning ways again.'
