Forest Edge Arena played host to a very well supported Halloween Unaffiliated Showjumping Show.

The day's events started with the 50cm pre-novice class. Emma Fenn, from King's Lynn, riding her own piebald, Darcia's Legend, set an unbeatable time to win the class from Haribo, ridden by Jess Allen.

The rider of the day was Rosie Fackrell, from Lincolnshire. Riding her striking grey Extra Bound, Rosie set an unbeatable time halfway through the class of 28. Rosie continued her winning form, taking first place in the last class of the day, the 1m Open.

Forest Edge also held an Indoor Working Hunter and Working Hunter Pony Show. The classes were judged by Mr G Barrett, from Chatteris, and the course designed and built by Steve Garrett. The decorative course was praised by those who competed as being challenging, but fair, even for the novice horse.

Champion in the Mountain and Moorland section was Rianwyn Lady Rose, owned by M Herbert, and ridden by Gabriella McDonnell, with reserve awarded to Roberta Bradley's, Talachddu Rosa.

The overall plaited WHP champion was the 15hh winner Ocean Trend, ridden by Molly Morley, from Newmarket, and reserve was Rhode Island Red, ridden by Millie Stennett.

Roberta Bradley went one better in the Open Working Hunter Championship, taking the red, white and blue, with Mrs V Ward's Private Matinee, with Caroline Ward's Sundance Apache, as reserve champion.

Saturday was devoted to those that show. Forest Edge indoor arena provided two rings for in hand show classes in the morning, and used one large ring for the full schedule of ridden classes in the afternoon. The classes on the whole had good entries and kept judge Miss E Souster, from Ipswich, busy for most of the day.

The in hand champion in ring one was awarded to the Welsh Section D, Fronarth Lion King, owned and led by Tracey Stevens, of Downham Market. The winner of the veteran class, 18-year-old Lario, owned by Sarah Murphy, took the reserve champion rosette.

Ring two in hand champion was awarded to a regular supporter of Forest Edge, and winner of the TB and Sports Horse classes, Susie Quinn, from Holme Hal,e leading her striking black, Beychevelle. Reserve champion was Brigid Fairman's well moving bay Arab, Verbnyi.

The ridden champion of the day was awarded to the winner of the ridden cob class, the very correct bay, Sir Walter Reilly, owned and ridden by Andrea Pearman. Reserve champion was E Russell's stunning grey Welsh Section A gelding, Gartconnel Shooting Star, ridden by A Wright.

There is a quieter week ahead at Forest Edge Arena.
