Blackdyke: Dries and buzzers are still catching well – daddies, hawthorns, sedges, mayfly patterns being the most successful, with black buzzers also accounting for plenty of takes. Don't forget Sunday June 10 – come along and have a look at float tubing. Instructors will be on hand for anyone wishing to try it. There is a fly-tying demonstration in the afternoon. Larkwood: This week was one of two halves, with fishing excellent early in the week – fish were taking small black dries on the surface. Then from Thursday onwards with the hot temperature and bright sunshine the fish went down to around 10 feet, with small gold head nymphs the best bet. Glebe Lake is still gin clear, so for best results the angler will need to use a fine leader. The most notable bag was a four-fish limit of 17b by visiting angler Graham Woodward, part of a 12-fish catch.

Rocklands: With the dramatic turnaround in the weather, there have been mixed results recently. Throughout the week there have been large hatches of Mayfly, predominantly in the evenings, but the odd spell during the afternoon. Some incredible buzzer hatches throughout the day ensure the water is a natural larder for the fish and make it difficult when choosing imitations. Coupled with the crystal clear water it makes the angler's job challenging, but when the right pattern is found and presented properlly some amazing sport can be had.

Kevin Knights from Poringland fishing a morning session at the lodge end of the lake last week and using small size 14 olive buzzers landed 10 rrainbows, fishing just under the surface and using a floating line and fine fluorocarbon tippet to aid presentation. Geoff Peek from Stalham fished the new West bank, which always produces rising fish in the evening due to the shade of the trees and was rewarded with eight rrainbows on dries. Small Mayfly patterns and black gnats are accounting for most of the fish.

If the weather continues as it has in the coming week, expect much of the same, with presentation being key. Small flies and light tippets in such clear water really will be essential with deeper tactics for the midday sun. Call 01953 483971.
