Wroxham boss Pawel Guziejko has issued a rallying call to his side ahead of today's crunch visit to fellow strugglers Ware.

The Yachtsmen's 5-2 defeat at home to Needham Market on New Year's Day sentenced them to their fifth straight loss in what has been a disappointing festive period.

'Needham played some good football and on the whole, I would say they deserved the win,' Guziejko said. 'Obviously they had a lot of experience in their team but we have got to stop looking for excuses like that. Excuses are for weak people and those who don't want to succeed.

'I know my team has got the quality to get us out of our current position, but we have got ourselves in this situation and now it's time for the team to stand up, take it on the chin and go out and do it on the pitch.'

Ware sit rock bottom of Ryman Division One North, with just 11 points from 23 games and no win in the league since September 24.

However – like Waltham Forest and Erith & Belvedere above them – they do hold games in hand over The Yachtsmen.

The Wroxham boss added: 'We still have 20 games left, with every one presenting an opportunity for us to get three points.

'At the moment, we have two crucial games ahead of us (against Ware and Erith and Belvedere) and I believe we can get six points from these and get ourselves away from relegation trouble.'
