Dereham Town boss Matt Henman is keeping his feet on the ground after his side's blistering start to the season.

The Magpies have won all of their eight games this season and sit top of the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division as today welcome United Counties League Cogenhoe to Aldiss Park.

And after winning three FA Cup matches already this season many are tipping Henman's men to win their FA Vase Second Qualifying Round tie this afternoon.

However, the Dereham manager simply wants his players to concentrate on their own business as they look to keep up their 100pc record and seal their place in the next round.

He said: 'We know a bit about Cogenhoe because Lynn played them last season, but this year we're taking the view that we need to only concentrate on what we are doing.

'It's working so far and we don't want to go overboard on what they're going to do and make plans because it detracts from what we can do. We're pleased with our start because I don't think even we expected to win all of our first eight games.

'But we're looking at the season in little chunks. We have to keep remembering why we have done well so far. We need to keep up that level of hard work, commitment, and togetherness.

'It's a big seven days for us. We've got Cogenhoe today, Gorleston (league) on Tuesday, and Chasetown (FA Cup) next Saturday. We'll have to use the squad to its full capability and we'll definitely be taking one game at a time.'

Adam Smith, Shaun Bammant, Luke Hannant and Sam Willis are all unavailable this afternoon, but Adam Gusterson and Jay Eastoe-Smith return.

First Division Fakenham Town will enjoy their moment in the spotlight as they enjoy arguably the glamour tie of the round at AFC Rushden & Diamonds.

The Ghosts travel to Welingborough Town's Dog and Duck ground to face the 'Phoenix' club, set up after Rushden & Diamonds folded in 2011, with boss Wayne Anderson insisting his side can cause an upset.

The Ghosts manager, whose side saw off higher-level CRC in the last round, said: 'Nobody expected us to get anything at CRC so if we are on our game we could cause an upset again.

'We've got a few lads, like Liam Somerton and Sam Garner to name a few, who will be nervous on the coach because it'll be the biggest game they've played in.

'But I just want them, and all of the lads, to go out there and relax, enjoy it, and play like we have been.

'We've been shifting the ball well and creating chances so we may spring another surprise.'

Elsewhere, Swaffham Town host Wellingborough Whitworths, Thetford Town entertain Godmanchester Rovers, Downham Town welcome Northampton Spencer and Diss Town are at home to Halstead Town.

Gorleston host Newmarket Town while Norwich United face Haverhill at Fakenham.
