Rob Lyon last night completed the penultimate piece in his King's Lynn puzzle.

The Stars announced Simon Lambert has become the sixth rider to sign on the dotted line ahead of the forthcoming Elite League season, which starts in March. But concerns over an inability to fill the remaining heat leader position will continue after Lyon admitted to needing extra time to sign a big hitter.

Lyon said: 'We are looking at riders with the last position in mind. I will be honest and say that the search has been problematic and one that has caused us a few issues. We want to do what is best for the club and if that means waiting a little longer then that's what we'll have to do. There is no obvious answer, which is why we are taking our time in deciding the best way to move forward.'

Lambert, 26, returns for a sixth season at the Adrian Flux Arena. He last rode in 2014 when signed as injury cover for Lewis Rose and joins Troy Batchelor, Robert Lambert, Rory Schlein, Mads Korneliussen and Rose in the club's 2016 line-up.
