Rocklands Mere: Spring has certainly sprung with prolific buzzer hatches and dry flies accounting for most of the fish, particularly on Sunday when the overcast skies and gentle breeze made conditions perfect for top of the water sport. Newcomer Paul Worley enjoyed his best day since joining and witnessed the thrill of fishing dries when he landed a total of nine rainbows. Fishing on Sunday, Paul was using small black cdc buzzers and fishing the choppy water on the west bank. Another good day was had by Roger Bobbin, from Wymondham, who, in an afternoon, managed 11 rainbows on small G&H Sedge patterns.

Nymphs and buzzers still prove successful on the brighter days, with member Paul Rogers, from Taverham, using his faithful home-tied PT nymph to great effect and banking 16 rainbows. A total of 219 fish were caught last week, with the rod average being 4.9 and over half of them taken on dries.

Blackdyke: Congratulations to Keith Topman for winning the Trout Master heat – good luck in the final at Grafham. Buzzers fished slow along the margins was the winning tactic. Howard Scott had an excellent day's sport, catching several fish on buzzers, the best a nice rainbow of about 4lb.

Willow Lakes, Chediston: With cooler weather forecast, anglers should be prepared to fish deeper. Damsel nymphs fished slow at midwater will be a good choice. If the sun shines midday, buzzers will be hatching so it's nymphs on a floating line.

Norfolk And Suffolk Flyfishers Society, East Tuddenham: The fishery opened on March 8 and was visited by 24 fishermen who caught 84 fish, the largest being 2lb 8oz. The top of the water sport is good and fish are rising freely to dries. Daytickets and season rods available. For more information, see norfolkandsuffolkflyfishers.org.uk.
