Our first look at the Olympic eventing course at Greenwich Park is certainly tantalising, with the tight track and undulating ground providing a difficult ride at the Olympic test event. 2012

Eventing Manager Alec Lochore from Norfolk has been working hard to ensure the smooth running of this event, which has drawn plenty of national publicity for the sport.

This test event will hopefully prove an accurate gauge of next year's Olympics with Britain taking team gold while our very own EQ cover star and Norfolk girl Piggy French claimed individual gold. Completing the Norfolk representation is top commentator Henry Symington, adding his own inimitable style to proceedings.

French followed up impressive dressage and cross-country displays aboard DHI Topper W by producing an immaculate showjumping performance over two rounds to secure the title.

Her double clear meant she finished on her dressage score of 34.7 penalties – more than seven clear of runner-up Michael Jung. GB colleague Pippa Funnell was third.
