Diss drew a blank as high-flying Eton Manor condemned them to a fifth defeat of the season in London 1N.

Diss, still suffering from a lack of self belief, knew that they needed to start to trust the playing strategy they have been working on. But sadly this was not to be the case.

A quick opening score by Eton Manor saw the body language on both sides start to polarise. Diss, to their credit, worked hard as individuals and to a man gave everything they had to attack the line. But the visitors pounced on each opportunity to score, the first three tries coming in the same corner as they worked hard as a team.

Eton Manor have improved their playing ability but continue to let themselves down with their lack of discipline, an area that the referee should have got a hold on early on.

The frustration levels for Diss were heightened by a yellow card for Beaird for a tackle on an Eton Manor player, a yellow for captain Matthew Richards when he appeared to be the aggrieved party, and a deserved yellow for a dangerous tackle for Will Farrer.

Opportunities arose for Diss but the lack of a ruthless streak meant nothing came of it. Diss know that they need to work to provide platforms for the backs to feed off. Clean, quick ball, as they did on the opening games, will provide the return to winning ways, hopefully starting at Basildon next weekend.
