Dion Dublin is ready to return after suspension tomorrow, but Peter Grant believes the veteran striker-defender cannot turn City around single-handedly.

Dublin - and central defender Jason Shackell - was suspended for the weekend visit by Sheffield Wednesday, but is expected to be drafted straight back in for the home game against Scunthorpe tomorrow night.

But while Dublin has a talismanic effect on the Canaries, Grant believes it is unfair to expect him to be able to restore confidence in his battered squad.

Grant said: “It is important to have Dion at any time, even round about the place, but can Dion Dublin give them all that confidence? Is it going to make somebody else go 10 yards, somebody else go and do this?

“He is a fantastic character around the place, there is no doubt of that, but at the end of the day I think that would be an indictment on the players themselves, if they have to have Dion Dublin and say to him, 'give me confidence'.

“Dion can't do it on his own - it's how you play that gives you confidence, making the right choices, making the simple choice and doing the simple thing well.”
