AFC Telford boss Andy Sinton is warning his players that desire will be key when they look to avoid a huge FA Trophy upset in Norfolk.

The Blue Square Premier (Conference) club arrive at The Walks as huge favourites — despite having slipped to 17th in the table after a run of seven league games without a win.

However, the former Premier League winger and England international, who played for Sheffield Wednesday, Tottenham Hotspur and QPR during an illustrious career, knows his men are there to be shot at.

Sinton told the Shropshire Star: 'We have a chance to progress but if I was King's Lynn I would think, and they should be thinking, they have got a chance to progress too.

'If you go into a game of football thinking you can't win then you might as well not turn up. Because of the league pyramid we will start as favourites but it is on their pitch. They will be really up for it.

'We have got to make sure getting into the next round means more to Telford than it does for King's Lynn. And that is where desire, determination and being up for the fight comes in to play.'

Telford — who play three levels above Lynn — only came into the competition in the last round and beat fellow Conference side Nuneaton Town to set up this afternoon's tie.

The Bucks can name a string of ex-pros in their side, including striker Steve Jones who has played 29 times for Northern Ireland. He is available again after missing three games through suspension.

Telford are incredibly similar to Lynn in one sense. Both clubs have been reformed after encountering financial difficulties. Telford United went under in 2004 but a fans-owned outfit soon bounced back and worked their way up the non-league ladder.
