Debenham LC 4 Swaffham Town 2: Pedlars remain fourth in Thurlow Nunn Division One

The Pedlars took the lead in the 23rd minute when Alex Vincent followed up a back-pass and the Debenham keeper miss-kicked, providing a gift.

Debenham's equaliser on the stroke of half-time also came from a miss-kick, when Dean Miller was caught out through the ball bobbling and keeper Lee Brooks was lobbed from 25 yards.

The home side made it 2-1 in the 49th minute, then 3-1 five minutes later and, what seemed to be the final nail in the coffin, scored a fourth in the 58th minute.

However Swaffham rallied and began to play their style of football and create chances. It looked as though they may have a chance to pull things back when the Debenham keeper was unable to keep hold of a Joe Jackson volley and substitute Aaron Porter converted the spilled ball to make it 4-2 with 21 minutes remaining.

Debenham dug in though and denied any further opportunities. On Saturday the Pedlars return to Suffolk to play AFC Sudbury Reserves.

There was better fortune for Swaffham Reserves, with a 6-1 home thumping of Blofield United Reserves.

Goals from Matthew Coe, Isaac Catchpole, Jack Dougal, Angus bailey and a brace from Charlie Gunner put Blofield to the sword. This weekend they travel to Hempnell Reserves.

The club's A team also bagged six goals, in a 6-1 away win against Rockland United, with Lee Goodsell, Jordan Lown, Blake Stangroome and a hat trick for Luke Askew. Next Saturday the A side are away to West End.

While on Thursday night the in-form under-18s are in action, travelling to Histon in the Thurlow Nunn North Division.
