There was a surprise in the City Short Mat League with top dogs British Rail beaten 10-4 at Deaf Sport, who had J Robertson, G and R Amos win 22-4. It was business as usual, however, when the leaders played Old Bonds at home and won 14-0 (L Baker, C Banham & M Baker 27-1).
Horsford BC entertained Costessey and with three games finished it was five points to one and 23 shots to 33 in Costessey's favour. But Horsford's S Warnes, J Watson & D Claxton stormed to a 26-5 win to pinch the match points and secure a 9-5 Horsford home win.
Horsford Heroes were also at home, beating Old Bonds 12-2 with M Kemp, M Tuttle & K Chapman winning 19-2.
Framingham Earl recorded their first win of the season, 12-2 at home to Anglian Windows, but came quickly back down to earth when beaten 10-4 at County Council.
First Bus appear to be returning to form as they beat Taverham 14-0 at home while injury-hit Sprowston Sports won 10-4 away to Felthorpe.
