Iona Lake finished eighth in the Commonwealth Games 3,000m steeplechase in Australia.
The British champion, 25, who competes for the City of Norwich Athletics Club, finished in 9:58.92 in a race won by Jamaican Aisha Praught in 9:21.00.
Former Reepham High School student Lake, from Hainford, was competing in her first Commonwealth Games and will be satisfied that her pre-race expectation was achieved.
'I am fit and I'm getting fitter – my aim is to come in the top eight,' she had said.
Baker, from Dereham, jumped 2.21 in the high jump, which was won by Australian Brandon Starc with a jump of 2.32.
