Norwich City defender Jurgen Colin looks set to make a permanent switch to Ajax after impressing during his month-long trial.

The Canaries will receive around £70,000 for the Dutchman, who is due to sign a one-year deal with Ten Cate's side.

Ajax technical director Martin van Geel said of a deal for Colin on www.fcupdate.nl at the weekend: “We will round this off in the coming days.”

Colin was bought by Nigel Worthington in 2005 from PSV Eindhoven for around £250,000 but has never fully convinced in his time at Carrow Road.

The signing of Jon Otsemobor over the summer signalled the end of his Norwich career and the player admitted to manager Peter Grant that he wanted a move back to his homeland.
