What a week it's been. I know exactly where I am going to start and it has to be with the big game at home to Coalville last Tuesday under the lights.

With the run the lads have been on over the last few weeks we all went into the game with our confidence sky high, and rightly so. This was definitely reflected in our start – we came flying out of the blocks, and we knew we had to as the gaffer has been told by a number of managers that this is what they do themselves.

We got nothing more than we deserved, going 2-0 up within 15 minutes. The boys played some really good football in the opening stages of the game and after some good work from Dunks (Russell Dunkley), Spriggsy (Steve Spriggs) finished off the move. I cannot speak highly enough of our right winger; scoring goals is the hardest part of the game and he seems to do it with ease and on a regular basis. Long may it continue.

Jason Turner added a second shortly after with a typical Turns finish. I don't think the opposition knew what hit them, but they did manage to get themselves back into the game before the break, with what seemed to be a little help from the officials. As a player you just get a feeling when you think somebody is offside and I thought the lad was. This was backed up by the whole back four. After it went 2-1 we did have a few scares and I felt it was vital that we went into the break with a lead and it was nothing more than we deserved.

The incident right on half-time and after the half-time whistle, where there player thought it would be a good idea to kick the ball needlessly into the crowd, really got the boys fired up for the second half and we felt that only a win would be acceptable. I think we may have sat back on our lead a little bit too much, but I certainly felt like we were controlling the game and always looked dangerous on the counter-attack.

This is exactly what happened late on in the game when Spriggsy got his second goal of the night. Again it was another top finish from him and I think it was plain for all to see how much it meant to all the players and management team. I have touched on goal celebrations before in recent weeks and this one topped the lot of them – it was an 11-man celebration with a few fans chucked in for good measure.

I have to touch on the scenes after the game, which have been talked about by a lot of people. I can only speak for myself and I for one heard nothing from the fans to provoke such a reaction. What I will say, though, is the support that the team received last week was unbelievable. It was right up there with the best atmosphere I have experienced and the turnout again was amazing. We are all in this together and once again I will say the support we receive home and away is nothing short of incredible for this level, so a special thanks to every fan.

The squad were given Thursday night off training so the next time we came together was for the game at Kidsgrove Athletic – another great result, which made it seven wins on the bounce, I believe, but the day had mixed emotions for my car. Having set of at 11am for what should have been a two-hour maximum journey turned into a four-hour trip. The mood in my car was not the best – I think there was only one man as angry and that was the gaffer. Let's just say, he called me a rude name.

Myself, Quigs (Dan Quigley), Dunks and Jay (Jason Lee) finally arrived 25 minutes into the game, and our away fans let us have it as we made our way to the dug-out. It didn't get any better as my car registration came over the tannoy – I'd gone and left my lights on.

Being one up saw the gaffer in a better mood. It was good to hear Forsh (Jamie Forshaw) had got on the score sheet - we found this out via Twitter. It was just as pleasing to see Beauy (Danny Beaumont) get a goal as well. It was disappointing to concede late on, as getting clean sheets is a good habit to get into. Taking into account the circumstances and how difficult the pitch was it was another good day at the office and another three points on the board.
