Around 150 golfers have signed up for the popular Coronation Foursomes competition, which is being staged at Marriott Sprowston Manor on Sunday.

The Norfolk CGU half combined handicap event generally attracts a strong field and this year is no exception, with tournament professionals Andrew Marshall (Bawburgh) and Chase Davis from the host club among those teaming up with amateurs.

Marshall and his partner Nigel Elmar from Dereham are in the first group off at 10.42am while the final trio don't start until 2.35pm.

The event was staged at Costessey Park last year and was as keenly contested as ever, with home pair Mac Gee and Aiden Taylor prevailing by the narrowest of margins.

They returned a score of 37 Stableford points to pip two other pairs, Mark and Sharon Allen of Eaton and Tim Hoare and Mark Butt of Heacham Manor and King's Lynn respectively, on countback.
