Buckenham Sailing Club's Winter Open Series began on Sunday.
The first race in the series for the prestigious Tangier Trophy was won by visitors Mike Pickles and Dick Fisher sailing Javelin Sarrisa. They took line honours and kept their place on corrected time. Second was BSC sailor Ben Fisher, in Javelin Quicksilver, crewed by Pete Lumley. Trevor Whittacker in Solo Skybird was fourth to cross the line but took third place on corrected time.
In the following General Allcomers race the first three places were the same as in the earlier race of the day. Visiting sailors will be welcomed to Buckenham for the winter sailing over the next seven Sundays, through to December 16. The first race starts at 10.30am.
