Junior Carter Cup: Jordan Taylor bagged five wickets as Swardeston Sharks made a winning start against Broadland Broncos in the Junior Carter Cup.
Taylor took five for 35 as Broncos were restricted to 122 for eight from their 24 overs in a reduced overs Zone One contest, skipper Sam Allen hitting 44. Aaron Murphy then put Swardeston on course for victory, hitting 47 from 49 balls as the Sharks won in the 19th over.
In Zone Two, Lowestoft Lions cruised to a nine-wicket win against Old Buckenham Stags.
Harvey Hebditch took four for 12 and Billy Brice three for 10 as the Stags were bowled out for 49, before Joe Larter hit 29no to steer the Lions to a comfortable win.
Also in Zone Two, Fakenham Barons beat Norwich Dragons by seven wickets.
Dereham Jaguars crushed Beccles Panthers by 113 runs in Zone Three, with Dereham's Bradley Raper taking three for seven from six overs to help bowl Beccles out for 30.
In Zone Four, Garboldisham Foxes won by four wickets at Diss Mafia, with T Fidler hitting 39no.
