Boss Ricci Butler has been rewarded with an excellent first season in management by filling the short-lived vacancy at higher-level Gorleston.

The 28-year-old guided Great Yarmouth Town to a fourth-placed Thurlow Nunn First Division finish and a cup final, which they lost, during his maiden term on the sidelines. And despite narrowly missing out on promotion and silverware, that fine effort seems to have been enough to land him the top job at the Premier Division Greens.

Yarmouth's neighbours Gorleston, who Butler lined up for as a player, parted company with Richard Daniels by mutual consent on Wednesday. And last night, just 24 hours later, both clubs confirmed that his replacement had already been decided in the shape of one of the Eastern Counties set-up's most promising managers.
