Ditchingham's Duke of York hosted the League Triples this week and the event was well attended, with 48 players. The home team put out four triples while Harleston Apollo put out three.
The first semi-final saw Beccles Ingate's M Eaton, D Peters and J Barnard defeat Earsham Queen's A Bond, A Pidd and R Warman. The second semi-final saw Earsham's other team of I Patrick, K King and R King lose to the strong Duke team of J Lowe, D Ling Snr and D Ling Jnr.
The final pitched the experienced Duke team up against the classy Eaton and his two younger team mates. Youth won the day as the Eaton, Peters and Barnard trio ran out winners.
l With just four games left in the season Beccles Caxton Club lead by three points from Earsham Queen. With the two teams meeting this week the result could decide where the league title goes.
Vinny Mudd is now the only player to be unbeaten in all 10 games this season, dropping only two legs all season. In the high scores table, Vinny is joined by John Lowe and Rob Warman on 19 scores of 106 or more. This year has seen a phenomenal numbers of 180s hit by players with no less than 32 players hitting a maximum.
