A chilly south westerly wind, gusting force six, reduced numbers to 12, but produced some fast and exciting sailing in the final two races in series D at Beccles ASC.

Richard Lewis and Stuart Halliday in Enterprise Tornado were first to the bridge mark in race one of the Winter Tankard, but were soon overtaken by the quicker Lasers of Shipley and Folkard, who accelerated away in a building wind from behind, blasting down to four, followed closely by Mark Langston in Streaker White Riot.

A steady race in sometimes choppy conditions by Richard and Caroline Salisbury in Norfolk Shanderlee was enough to earn them second place, pushing Shipley down to third. However, Langston was victorious, taking the race win on corrected time.

Charlie Folkard took an early lead in race two, until his mainsheet became caught on a projecting nail on the bank whilst tacking close to one, leaving him to watch the fleet pass.

Shipley joined Rory Kelsey in Norfolk Tankard on the start, but Kelsey recovered to finish third behind team Salisbury. First over the line and another convincing win for Langston was enough to take the silverware from absent rival Jonathan Blankley.
