Lowestoft boxer Anthony Ogogo has agreed a sponsorship deal with Nike.

The Olympic medallist, who is currently undefeated as a professional boxer since he signed with Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions last year, has spoken of his pride at joining the brand.

'It is an honour for me to sign with Nike and I am very proud to do so,' said Ogogo, who becomes the first boxer since Frank Bruno to sign with the sportswear giant. 'They are the elite sports brand and are the best of the best – which mirrors everything that I hope to achieve in my career.

'Their products, apparel and training gear is unrivalled and I cannot wait to be wearing the famous Nike swoosh on my shorts every time I step inside of the ring. This is an exciting time for both me and British boxing as a whole and I'm very excited to begin working alongside Nike.'

Ogogo, who has won all of his four bouts since turning professional, is expected to soon be named on the Mersey Beat bill at the Liverpool Echo Arena on March 15.
