Thetford Town have been rewarded for their shock win over Norwich City Under-21s with another attractive home draw in the quarter-finals of the Norfolk Senior Cup.

Town, who saw off the young Canaries 1-0 in the fourth round at Mundford Road, will host Dereham Town of the Ryman League Division One North next month.

Holders Gorleston were handed a tough trip to fellow Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division outfit Norwich United in last night's draw.

The Greens, who edged past Downham Town in the previous round, will be taking on a side who are riding high at the top of the league, having picked up 14 points more than them in one less game.

The one surviving Almary Green Anglian Combination side left in the competition, Scole United, have been handed a daunting trip to last season's runners-up Wroxham in the last eight.

Currently going well along with Dereham in the Ryman League, the Yachtsmen will be hot favourites to progress against a side who play in the Combination's second tier.

The fourth tie sees King's Lynn Town of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League travel to Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division strugglers Diss Town, who recently appointed Mark Reeve as their new manager.

The ties are due to be played on the afternoon of Saturday, January 10, although the dates are subject to confirmation.
