Norfolk youngster Amelia Williamson will be heading north next month to compete in the Scottish Under-18 Girls' Open Championship.

The 16-year-old from Royal Cromer will be competing at Montrose Golf Club between April 12 and 14 and will be looking to follow up an excellent tied third finish in last year's event.

Meanwhile Ben Rawsthorne will be the only Norfolk competitor in the Europro Tour Qualifying School Final at Frilford Heath in Oxfordshire next week.

The Bawburgh professional made it through without having to compete in one of six qualifying events after finishing 117th on the Order of Merit last season.

Two Norfolk players attempted to join him by playing at Stoke by Nayland but missed the cut. Thetford's Dan Traher made a solid start with a 72 but slipped out of contention with a 78 on day two while Diss amateur Chris Bartram finished alongside him after rounds of 76 and 74.
