Competition was keen for the title of County Junior Champion, held in the centenary year of the Norfolk Ladies County Golf Association.

Sixteen junior girls took on the challenge at King's Lynn Golf Club, with Royal Cromer's Amber Ratcliffe, 16, Norfolk's England junior international squad player, finding time in her busy schedule to defend her title, and King's Lynn's Juliet Fenton looking to pose a strong challenge on her home course.

Prizes were awarded for the Championship Scratch Trophy, won by Amber, from Royal Cromer, successfully retaining her title, on countback from Fenton in a tight race to the winning post.

Sian Fenn Green from Dereham, who has been promising much already this season, posted an excellent score of net 67 to take the title of Handicap Champion and the trophy.

The Junior Championship was once again sponsored by Rigby Taylor (Turf Management) and Hayes + Storr (Solicitors) and the prizes presented by county president Nickie Clark.

Carol Delf, County Junior Organiser, congratulated all the players on a great day's golf and their performance. The cream of Norfolk junior golfers face their next challenge at the Inter County Match days being held in Hertfordshire in August.
