David Wagner is making no attempt to curtail his Norwich City players' confidence as they ramp up their push for the Premier League.

The Canaries have lost just two of their last 14 games, putting them in pole position for play-off qualification with just two weeks left of the regular season.

Wagner won't let them get ahead of themselves as a result, but wants his squad to make the most of the momentum they've built.

"Everybody should have the biggest chest," he said. "I have no problem with this. I back it, to have the biggest possible confidence when you cross the white line.

"But it's also very important, and everybody knows it, that you can't take any results for granted. Especially in the Championship, it's quite difficult to win football matches, but it's possible.

"Obviously the guys have done it quite consistently in recent weeks and months, and what you can feel in training and the dressing room is that they are hungry, they are greedy for more.

"This is a good feeling, this feeling together with confidence and the atmosphere we've had in recent home games and our home record, it makes total sense to keep the foot on the gas."

Norwich are potentially within six games of a record sixth promotion to the Premier League, with their head coach having won the play-offs at his only attempt as Huddersfield Town boss.

They may have one eye on the ultimate prize, but Wagner knows it'll take short-term concentration to get there.

"It makes sense to really keep our feet on the ground, very humble but totally ambitious," he continued. "Obviously we are excited about what's in front of us.

"They see what kind of reward they can get, and this is exactly what we'd like to have again (against Bristol City) to be at our best level.

"As I've said, as long as we win I don't care what the others are doing. This is and was our aim, this will be our aim for Saturday as well."
