Przemyslaw Placheta race to feature in Norwich City reunion

The Polish international joined the South Wales club on deadline day in January after they took on his contract from the Canaries.

Placheta has made 10 appearances for Luke Wiliams' side since his move away from Norwich, but suffered a hamstring injury in their Good Friday draw against Sheffield Wednesday which has kept him sidelined for the last four matches. 

Swansea are awaiting the results of a scan to see if his race is run for the rest of the campaign as they weigh up whether to extend his contract, which expires at the end of the current season. 

“It’ll be a discussion around the table with all the people involved,” Williams told the BBC.

“Let’s get some more information what’s going on with the hamstring, see if we can get him back before the end of the season, if not let’s take it all into consideration and see how we feel.”

Swansea travel to Carrow Road later this month and have little to play for in their remaining Championship fixtures. 

That gives Williams time to assess his squad and begin the planning for next season, including whether or not Placheta forms part of his plans moving forward. 

The winger, 26, is determined to earn a new longer-term deal at the Championship outfit and has enjoyed life at Swansea since departing Norwich in the winter window. 

“Yes - why not? I am really enjoying the first few weeks under the new gaffer and with new team-mates. We will see," Placheta said earlier this year.

“I am fully focused on every training session and every game, to put my best performance in for the team.

“When I came here I saw big potential in this team and I enjoy what the gaffer expects from us.

“We just need to stay together, be positive and take some positives from the games we have played."
