Ross Barrows has made a surprise return to King’s Lynn Town.

The popular defender has signed a one-month loan deal and will be available for Saturday’s game away to Blyth Spartans.

"I am buzzing to be back at the club, where I have made lots of memories," said Barrows. "I'm looking forward to making more and helping the team have a strong finish to the season."

Barrows' return comes as Lynn look set to lose Kian Ronan, who will be on international duty with Gibraltar.

"With Kian going away with Gibraltar next week, it was important that we brought someone in with the relevant experience and qualities, so it was a no-brainer to go for Ross and I’m delighted that he’s joined us," said manager Adam Lakeland.

"He’s a player who is well thought of by many at the club having been with us previously and with him having that little bit of the Linnets in his veins, I know it’s another player coming in who will fight for the club and his team-mates. Add to that his experience and strengths and I think it’s a strong acquisition for us."

Barrows was part of the 2019-20 team which won promotion to the National League, where he made 58 appearances, scoring four goals. He made a total 103 appearances for the Linnets, scoring nine times.

Barrows, 25, first joined Lynn towards the end of the 2018-19 season but left in the summer of 2022, joining Altrincham Town as a free agent, before moving on to Scunthorpe United last summer.

He was unable to hold down a first team place and has spent time this season on loan to Northern Premier League Premier Division side Ilkeston Town.

Barrows’ last appearance at The Walks was in November when then league leaders Scunthorpe were beaten 3-1 by the Linnets.
