Young Norwich City defender Jaden Warner has joined League Two side Notts County on loan.
The Canaries confirmed the move on Monday afternoon, after the academy prospect completed a medical before putting the final touches on a deal that will see him join the Magpies for the rest of their League Two campaign.
Warner had also attracted interest from Stockport, but Notts County have won the race for his signature - even if the deal took longer than expected after Luke Williams departed the club to join Swansea.
He has been replaced by Wealdstone boss Stuart Maynard, who has approved the deal which is now in advanced stages. Confirmation could arrive as early as later today.
With Grant Hanley returning from injury, Norwich now have a full roster of experienced central defenders and will allow Warner out to aid his development, having made his senior debut for the club earlier this season in their Carabao Cup defeat to Premier League side Fulham.
That leaves Ben Gibson, Shane Duffy, Danny Batth and Hanley as the available options as Norwich continue their push for the play-offs.
Warner will join young defenders Jonathan Tomkinson, Lewis Shipley, Emmanuel Adeboyega and Brad Hills in moving to the fourth tier to continue their development at Carrow Road.
Norwich are keen for Warner to gain experience playing regular football in a possession-based side, making Notts County an attractive option for the 21-year-old.
City boss David Wagner confirmed earlier this month that a loan exit was possible for Warner this month, having not found himself in a Championship squad since City's 3-2 defeat to Watford in November.
"It's quite early in the window. And I think it's too early to give a serious answer on that. It could be an option. Yes," said Wagner earlier this month.
"But we have now a lot of games in front of us in this transfer window. And I think then we have a better picture, then we can decide what is best for Jaden. And this could be an option that he goes on loan as well."
