England Lioness Lauren Hemp has been celebrated in the New Year Honours list for her contribution to the sport she loves.

Hemp, who hails from North Walsham, has been made an MBE for her services to football after England finished runners-up to Spain in the women’s World Cup.

Hemp captured the nation's heart for her display during the Lionesses' 2022 Euros triumph and 2023 World Cup near-miss.

The 23-year-old former Norwich City player has become an integral part of the England squad as well as being a major player for Manchester City, where she recently celebrated her fifth anniversary.
