Gabriel Sara has had to adapt to a different role under David Wagner and has promised Norwich City there is more to come despite already glittering individual performances.

The Brazilian has been a shining light in an inconsistent campaign for the Canaries, recording 13 goal contributions in 20 Championship games so far this season.

That is despite an alteration to his positioning by Wagner in an attempt to help solidify City, helping them record back-to-back home clean sheets in a 1-0 win over QPR and Saturday's stalemate with Preston.

Sara has been forced to learn a slightly more conservative role within Norwich's midfield engine room, but the 24-year-old doesn't believe that needs to come at the expense of his creativity.

He is placing high demands on himself and believes there is still more gears to find, despite his impressive body of Championship work.

"It's a little bit different for me. I wasn't used to it but in the last season I have been playing like this and getting more used to it," Sara told the Pink Un about his new role.

"Everything is for the team, and anything that I can do to help the team, I will do. Now, I'm trying to help like this.

"I can still create chances playing like this in this position and defensively it allows me to help even more.

"I think I can grow even more and am capable of even more things. I demand this from myself and I hope that I can give more for this team."

Sara has had to absorb more defensive responsibility in the last two outings due to midfield partner Kenny McLean being cast as a central defender by City boss Wagner.

With an emphasis on improving their possession in the build-up phase, Wagner has turned to his City captain to provide a short-term solution.

Sara is full of praise for his midfield colleague, believing his game intelligence would allow him to play anywhere.

"I think Kenny McLean is a genius, to be honest," he said. "You can see how he was playing as a midfielder and now as a centre back.

"It feels like nothing changes for him - he plays the same way and in the last game he still gave an assist. He is such an important part of this team."
