Kieran Dowell has agreed terms on a move to Rangers at the end of his Norwich City contract, according to reports in Scotland.

Speculation linking the attacking midfielder with a move to the Scottish giants has gathered pace over the last week, with the Daily Record now stating that Dowell has agreed terms to become Michael Beale's first summer signing.

The report adds that Dowell has already completed his medical ahead of official confirmation arriving in the coming weeks.

Michael Beale has been on a recruitment drive ahead of the summer window after adding a host of players in January that included Todd Cantwell. The Rangers boss has also supposedly held face-to-face talks to persuade him to make the move to Ibrox.

Despite Norwich holding 'conversations' with Dowell over a new deal, the 25-year-old now looks poised to leave Norwich at the end of his current deal in June.

The midfielder has featured on 23 occasions for the club this season, scoring eight times and recording three assists. Dowell signed for Norwich from Everton on a deal worth £1.5million back in 2020.

He was influential in City's early bounce after David Wagner but injury has prevented his involvement in the final stretch of the Championship campaign.

Dowell is currently sidelined with a knee ligament injury and has missed the last 12 Championship matches.

Speaking about Dowell's contractual situation at Thursday's press conference, Wagner said: “I don’t like to speak about certain individuals. I know what is going on behind the scenes, but I don’t want to talk about it. Let’s focus on West Brom and not players out of contract.”
