Wolfsburg have joined the list of potential suitors for Norwich City right-back Max Aarons, according to national newspaper reports.

The Sun on Sunday transfer guru Alan Nixon is reporting that the Bundesliga outfit sent two scouts to watch the 23-year-old during City's impressive 2-0 victory at Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park ahead of a potential summer swoop.

Aarons could be available for a fee in the region of £10m or lower as he enters the final 12 months of his City deal this summer, the report states.

Tottenham, who have a long-held interest in Aarons, has also been mentioned as a potential destination should the right-back move on in the summer window.

The City star has had to contend with constant speculation since his emergence back in 2018 - with City rejecting offers from Barcelona and Roma in previous seasons.

Despite the transfer links, Aarons has remained professional and racked up over 200 appearances for Norwich.

He has made 39 appearances in the Championship this season - scoring once and recording two assists. Aarons has been ever-present under David Wagner since his arrival in January.

Norwich may need to raise funds this summer should they miss out on a Premier League return this summer. Aarons is viewed as a saleable asset should that scenario play out in the months to come.

When asked about his future recently, Aarons revealed he had plans between his representatives and Norwich pencilled in for the summer but his concentration remains on ensuring City finish their Championship campaign strong.

"Being promoted twice, playing in the Premier League, you could say that (that he has achieved everything at Norwich)," he told PA Wire from England's U21 base last month.

"I am genuinely looking at the next six-eight weeks and what we can achieve. There's an expectation to be promoted straight away; if we can do that then that's what I'm focused on.

"After that we'll sit down and speak, as we do every year. There are a lot of different scenarios, whether we're promoted or not, that will ultimately effect what happens in the future."
