Norwich City defender Andrew Omobamidele returned to the international fold with a start in the Republic of Ireland's 3-2 win over Latvia.

The 20-year-old played on the right side of a back three as the Boys in Green got off to a fast start, before being pegged back late in the first half.

Cardiff winger Callum O'Dowda opened the scoring in the sixth minute, before Evan Ferguson's strike made it 2-0.

Latvia hit back with Roberts Uldrikis' goal 16 minutes later, before Arturs Zjuzins levelled things in first-half stoppage time.

Omobamidele was withdrawn for Sheffield United defender John Egan in the 63rd minute, before Rotherham's Chiedozie Ogbene found the winner in the 65th.

Next up, Ireland face France in a Euro 2024 qualifier at the Aviva Stadium, where Omobamidele will hope to earn his seventh full international cap before returning to Norfolk.
