A repeat of last year's final between Swardeston and Norwich is the stand-out tie in the first round the of Carter Cup on Sunday. Norwich proved to be cup specialists last season, reaching the final of all three major competitions and winning two, but the 60-over Carter format proved to be their nemesis as Swardeston won for the second year running.

The biggest chance of an upset appears to be at Downham, where the Alliance Premier Division champions take on EAPL side Great Witchingham. Another EAPL side, Horsford, will be wary of their trip to Brooke, although the biggest challenge of all awaits Alliance Division Two side Dereham, who must travel to EAPL champions Vauxhall Mallards.
