FLY FISHING: Larkwood trout fishery 01284 728612. Simon Fogg does it again with two double figure fish in 15 minutes. Both fish were around the 11lb mark and both were returned.

Simon was using a black tadpole when he caught both fish. Other flies to try are damsels, montanas and cats whiskers. Brian Kayte took the biggest fish of 13lbs 2ozs and also another fish of 7.5lbs. The fish have been quite close to the surface.

Blackdyke trout fishery 07525 730447. Blackdyke is fishing well with the warmer weather, fish can been seen rising during the day. Cats whisker, yellow dancer, orange fritz, apps blood worm and buzzer fished on a floating line with a slow figure of eight retrieve are accounting for most of the fish taken. South Elmham trout fishery 07500 703389. Last weekend, saw 10 anglers take a total of 41 fish of which 14 fish were released. R Stamp from Gt Yarmouth returned an 8lb rainbow, while John Clarke and Ken Park returned brownies of 6lbs and 5lbs respectively. The rest of the week was too windy and wet for fishing. Both lakes are clear.

Rocklands mere 07900 004953. At last the ice has thawed with the temperature high for this time of year. John Archer was the first to fish the lake after the thaw and managed ten fish with four grown on and reaching in excess of 3lbs, John also landed two 3lb brown trout. Mr Fishburne took four fish, one was estimated at 6lb plus. Phillip Bodie fished in extremely high winds making casting difficult but he managed four fish in total, three rainbows and a brown trout. Philip was using a floating line and damsel, other flies that have been working have been black buzzers and apps blood worms. Fish have been seen rising in the margins near the island.
