It was a weekend for the juniors at Oulton Broad with a training day for the RS Tera Class followed by four races.

There was too much wind on Saturday for some of the smaller helms and there were numerous capsizes. On Sunday the wind had dropped a bit but it was still strong enough to cause a few to go swimming.

The 23-strong fleet was divided into two sections, with eight in the Pro Sail group with larger sails and the rest in Sport Sail group.

The Pro Sail section was dominated by Will Taylor from Alton Water. He recorded three firsts and a second which became his discard to give him an unbeatable three point total.

He had some close races with Jonny Watkins from Dabchicks SC who took second overall with a first in the fourth race backed up with two seconds and a third for five points. Making up the third overall was Tim Koch with a second and a third. Others who had results in the first three were Rupert Watkins and Will Robinson.

Although they were using smaller sails there was often one or two from the Sport group mixing it with the faster Pro section and in the end Henry Jameson, who had travelled from Hayling Island, proved the best, winning with a first, second and third places from home sailor George Catchpole, who started with two fifth places and ended with two firsts to put him just one point behind.

Niamh Davies from Burnham SC was third overall after winning the second race and following this with a second in the third.

The numbers were well down in the club racing and with only four out in the Fast Handicap race and three in the Lasers Andy Bedwell won both races with Alan Gisborne second and Glenn Thornton third in both.

Trevor Balls won both the Waveneys and Mixed Keel races, beating Gordon Stables and Nick Smith in the Waveney class race and John Lockwood's Squib and George Gower in the Mixed race.
