Lowestoft continued their build up to the new season with another impressive performance, this time bringing an emphatic win at Ryman League new boys Leiston.

The goals, all in the first half, came from Adrian Forbes (two) and Matt Nolan, but the game also gave their new signing from Bury, Chris Henderson, a first chance to show what he could do – and he didn't disappoint.

Within minutes Henderson raced onto Adam Smith's superb ball inside the full back and cut inside before playing a low cross into the middle for Forbes to sweep home his first goal.

There was virtually non stop pressure on the home goal with Henderson and fellow wide man Jamie Godbold well supported by Andrew Cave-Brown and Smith.

The second goal came when Nolan was wrestled to the ground by Joe Jefford and Forbes stepped up to convert the penalty.

And as Lowestoft continued to play some pleasing fast flowing football they deservedly moved three ahead in the 39th minute when Cave-Brown's cross was mis-punched by the home keeper under pressure from Forbes and Matt Nolan, despite having his back to the goal, hooked the ball back across his body into the net.

The many second half substitutions did little to upset the Lowestoft dominance with Andrew Fisk having a 25-yard daisy-cutter someow turned onto the bar by the home goalkeeper and Lubo Guentchev having a goal disallowed for a marginal offside decision.

With Greg Crane and Sam Gaughran forming a solid central defensive barrier keeper Andy Reynolds had a fairly untroubled afternoon.

But, worryingly for the Town management, Joe Francis pulled up with what looked like a hamstring problem shortly after coming off the bench.
