Today sees the final stages of the Better Furniture-sponsored open over-60 singles at the Great Yarmouth Festival of Bowls, with the quarter-finals at 9am and final starting at 1.15pm.
The first game will be between J Jordon (Notts) and T Webster (County Arts). Next up will see I Morris (Skegness) play R Pooley of the Great Yarmouth club.
In the third game the only lady to qualify, E Shorter (North Walsham) lost her first game 15-12 beat B Taylor (County Arts) 15-6 and D Richards, a member of the Great Yarmouth tournament committee 15-2. She will now play I Platford of Lowestoft Railway.
In the last game another member of the committee A Dunton of Acle won his first two games 15-9 and 15-5 but nearly came unstuck in his last against D Brawn (North Walsham) when he fought back from well behind to only lose by three shots and qualify.
He will now play R French (County Arts).
On Saturday afternoon the Annual game between tournament veterans and the cream of the Norfolk under-25 bowlers of both sexes was played.
The veterans won this game and about �250 was raised for the county under-25s.
