EAST WOMEN'S LEAGUE: Norwich Dragons II held off a Christchurch comeback to earn a 2-1 victory in Ipswich in Division 2NE.

Dragons started brightly and took the lead through Saskia Delacave.

Dragons added a second before half-time, with Isi Christopher on target.

The hosts hit back strongly in the second half but were denied by the Dragons defence, with keeper Morag Morrison in fine form.

With 10 minutes remaining, Christchurch were awarded a penalty flick and scored to ensure a nervous finale. But Dragons confidently held on to notch their fourth win of the season.

Broadland's game at home to Ipswich & East Suffolk was abandoned after 15 minutes when an Ipswich defender was struck in the face by the ball.

The visitors were leading 1-0 at the time, but after the lengthy delay the match was abandoned, with the temperature falling and the prospect of a frozen pitch before the end of the game.
