Leading professional Tony Varney has joined the teaching staff at the new Norwich Family Golf Centre at Bawburgh.
Varney was the head professional at The Norfolk for 14 years until the club's recent closure.
He has joined professionals Mark Spooner and Peter Bower on the coaching staff at the centre, which features a 24-bay driving range, shop, caf and sports bar, and is adjacent to the club's nine-hole course. Varney commented: 'The facilities here are fantastic and there's the added attraction of the nine-hole course.'
Varney has been Norfolk Open champion three times and Norfolk professional champion on four occasions. He's also a past winner of the Norfolk PGA order of merit and this year will defend his title in the biannual Millennium Trophy, which is also contested by Suffolk professionals, and which he has won three times.
