Boxing trainer Graham Everett is targeting a Norwich double over Liverpool.

Everett, a big Canaries fan, is tipping Grant Holt to deliver a painful blow to Kenny Dalglish's side on the football pitch on Saturday before Sam Sexton delivers the knockout blow when he travels to Merseyside next month for a tilt at the British heavyweight title against home favourite David Price.

It's a big ask on both counts, but Everett is confident on both counts.

'I am absolutely confident of a home win on Saturday - and I think Holty will score,' he said.

'The away game, if you like, is a difficult fight, but it is one we are looking forward to. After going to Belfast twice to fight Martin Rogan and being victorious twice, nothing can faze you at all. Belfast was as hostile a place as you could ever go to - but we came away with a win each time and we certainly plan to do it again on May 19.'

The fight takes place at the historic Aintree racecourse, with promoter Frank Maloney insisting it is a match between Britain's top thoroughbred boxers.

'It's a fight for a prestigious title and the quality of the two men fits the bill perfectly,' he said. 'They are the best around, but make no mistake, while David is the favourite, this is the hardest fight of his career. He was due to fight Tyson Fury but this will be harder for David - he has blown people away in the past but he knows that isn't going to be the case with Sam.'

The 28-year-old Price is 12-0, with 10 KOs, and at 6ft 8ins stands six inches taller than Sexton, whose only blemishes on his 15-2 record have come against the same man - Dereck Chisora.

Price is odds on to take the title - and Sexton is happy to concede early ground to the bookies, if not his opponent.

'I like being the underdog,' he said. 'I have everything to gain in a fight like this. The pressure is definitely on David - he is fighting in front of his home crowd and he is the favourite, I am the underdog - I might even put a bet on myself if the odds are good.

'Going to Liverpool to fight is not a problem for me, I've done this sort of thing before. I don't let things like that get to me. I am there to fight one man on the night and it's David Price, not the crowd.

'I know David from our amateur days and he is a gentleman - I would like to think I am a gentleman too. Talk is cheap - I don't really bad mouth anyone, I just do what I have to do on the night with the fists. There is no point in saying you are going to do this or that - because if you don't you are going to look an idiot.'

Everett has scoured his contacts book to find suitable sparring partners for Sexton, who has promised 'something different' on the night. What that is remains a trade secret, but Sexton - officially recorded as being 6ft 2in - says he has learned how to make up a six-inch height difference.

'To start with it was a little bit awkward, but because I move a lot and roll a lot it is not as hard for me as it is a lot of fighters,' he said. 'I am fast as well, so if anything it is more difficult for them to spar with me than for me to spar with them.'
