A boxing club in Attleborough has received a boost following a donation from the local Norwich and Peterborough branch.

Attleborough Amateur Boxing Club was handed the 250 to help buy new equipment at the club that welcomes children from the age of eight and upwards.

The new equipment bought with the donation will be available to be used by both boys and girls of all ages who use the club to get fit, train for competitions and have fun at the same time.

Jenny Didcott, the manager of the N&P's Wymondham branch, said: 'We are proud to be able to make this donation to one of our local sporting clubs. Attleborough Boxing Club is a fantastic facility that provides a great place for young people to come together and work on their fitness and indulge in a sport they enjoy under brilliant guidance from qualified teachers and instructors.'

Peter Neal, of Attleborough Amateur Boxing Club, added: 'We're really grateful to N&P for this donation. We want to make sure we can offer local children a great place to train with some of the best equipment so they can get the most out of the time they spent here and thanks to this donation we can continue to do just that.'

The 250 donation came from the Yorkshire Building Society Community Investment Fund. N&P merged with Yorkshire Building Society in 2011.
