Team boss Rob Lyon is urging his side to replicate their improved away form on their own track as King's Lynn welcome Belle Vue to the Norfolk Arena this evening.

The Stars have secured Elite League points in each of their last three meetings on the road but have lost two of their four meetings on their own Saddlebow Road shale this season.

Last week's brave, but narrow, defeats at league leaders Poole and Coventry provided an encouraging response from the home loss to Lakeside on May 30 and Lyon wants his Stars to hit the gas from the off again tonight.

He said: 'The results at Poole and Coventry were a step in the right direction and a good response from the disappointment of losing at home to Lakeside, which was a bit of a shock.

'Belle Vue have turned the corner and the team they've got now looks a bit stronger than it did. I don't think they'll have a full strength side tonight but there's no such thing as an easy match.

'However, with all due respect, we're confident and will be aiming to get all three league points. Our away form has improved and we need to make sure we don't drop any more points at home.'

Niels-Kristian Iversen, Mads Korneliussen, Maciej Janowski and David Howe – who all missed the Stars clash against Coventry – return tonight.

Kevin Wolbert, who top-scored against the Bees with 13 plus one, will remain at reserve despite his recent fine form.

Lyon said: 'Kevin's a good lad, he's got a great temperament and I think he'll go far. Like so many, he's a confidence rider, and dropping to reserve has helped him to score points freely. Hopefully, that can continue.

'We must not put too much pressure on ourselves with regards to making the play-offs as it will only backfire. We just need to do our jobs to the best of our ability and the rest will come naturally.'

Lynn's solitary away victory this campaign came at Belle Vue but the Aces have improved dramatically of late. They were pointless up until last week, before signing Artur Mroczka, Mark Lemon and Craig Cook, and picked up their first victory of the season against Wolverhampton.

They followed that win up with a point at Peterborough and a encouraging, but pointless defeat, in their return fixture with Wolves.

The Aces will be led by Elite League riders champion Rory Schlein, who guested for Lynn during Friday's 48-42 defeat at Coventry on Friday.

Racing gets under way at 7.45pm.
