THE eagerly-awaited Suffolk derby between Bury Town and Lowestoft Town has been postponed this morning (Wednesday) because of a waterlogged pitch.
The scheduled Ryman Premier Division clash at Ram Meadow has fallen foul of the wet conditions that have hit the region over recent days – and this postponement means it is a second successive festive blank for the Blues and Bury after both teams had their games called off on Saturday as well.
A Lowestoft Town spokesman said: 'The Bury Town v Lowestoft game is off after an early check of the pitch.'
However, another east coast derby is still scheduled to go ahead this afternoon.
The Boxing Day bonanza between Kirkley and Pakefield and Gorleston FC, in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division, is due to kick off at noon today at Walmer Road.
