Gary Setchell admits he's dreading being away from the technical area this afternoon when he begins his two-game touchline ban.

The King's Lynn Town boss will be forced to watch his side's clash at Northwich Victoria from the stands after the FA charged him for improper conduct during the Linnets FA Trophy win over AFC Telford United in December.

The punishment starts this afternoon in Stafford, where Victoria play, and Setchell is not looking forward to the experience.

He said: 'I still think I've been dealt with really harshly. I wanted to make a sub and I didn't know I had to go through the fourth official. We don't usually have one for our matches. 'I reared up a bit and said some things I shouldn't have but we'd just gone 2-1 up against Telford and I was full of all sorts of emotions. I see a lot worse week in and week out on the TV.

'I'm going to hate today. I can't shout any instructions. I will be making decisions but I won't have my presence in the technical area. Neil Fryatt (assistant) has been a manager before and Ross (McNeil) coach, are experienced.

'I will still have phone contact with Ross but I'm not going to be ringing him every two minutes. I'm not allowed in the dressing room between 2.30-5.30pm either. But the lads know what's expected of them and we work very hard on shape.

'Maybe it's something I might do in the future. Some managers, like Brian Talbot when I was at Rushden, would always sit in the stand and then come to the dugout in the second half. But I'm not looking forward to it.'

A Russell Dunkley header helped the Linnets, fifth, edge out the Vics, 11th, 1-0 in the reverse fixture in October. And Setchell knows his opponents, whose boss Lee Ashcroft was named Evo-Stik Division One South manager of the month for January, will give his side another tough test today.

Setchell said: 'We beat them at The Walks but they were very good. They gave us a football lesson in the first-half and we probably didn't deserve to win.

'They've got a new manager and added some quality players. If they put a run together like we did in September and October I'm sure they can make the play-offs. I believe they're one of the best sides in the league.'

Defender Ryan Fryatt is suspended for today's game while winger Steve Spriggs, who rejoined Lynn after less than a fortnight at Boston United, returns to the squad.
