Leading promoter Frank Warren has been urged to reunite the three boxing Walsh brothers on a Norwich fight night.

The current Homecoming series is being backed by Bedfordshire promoter Mervyn Turner, with brothers Michael and Ryan featuring heavily.

But Liam – Ryan's twin – is still under the Warren promoting umbrella and his role is restricted to support from the corner beside trainer Graham Everett.

Now Ryan Walsh wants the two promoters to work together to put all three on the same bill in their adopted home city. The last time all three featured on the same bill was in October, 2010 – at York Hall in Bethnal Green, with Commonwealth super-featherweight champion Liam yet to appear in front of his home fans.

'It's a shame Frank Warren doesn't come along and put on a big show with Liam and put the three of us on together in Norwich,' said Ryan. 'Liam has done his service, he has been away, he's fought mainly in London and his first defence was in Wigan, but he has never fought at home. Why has Frank Warren not put a show on here?

'Me and Michael have proved you can put on shows and they will be a success. Put Liam on as the headline, with a TV deal, and put me and Michael on. All three of us should be fighting together again and it should be done. I know Frank Warren and Mervyn could work together.

'It is something we haven't done for a while, it's been a good couple of years since we fought together, but the viewing numbers were brilliant.'

Ryan and Michael will be on the next Turner-promoted bill, at the Epic centre in Magdalen Street on March 22 – and Ryan has more incentive than most to come out on top. His last fight, for the vacant British Masters super-featherweight title - at the Norfolk Showground in November, ended in a controversial draw with Scotland's Ronnie Clark. Walsh's next opponent has yet to be named - but he admits he would love to go up against Clark again.

'That is what I wanted for this fight,' he said. 'He has a Scottish title fight coming up so I have heard, but somewhere down the line our paths will definitely cross again and I will put right a blatant wrong. I have watched the fight a few times again and things like this happen in all sport, but I think that fight would be good for us. We would sell that wherever we fought. It would be a good fight.

'It wasn't his fault or his team's fault what happened.

'If I had the choice 100pc I would like to fight him again - I would even fight at the same weight and the same title. For me I know I can make featherweight, although I am more of a nine-stoner and that fight was made at 9st 4. I would definitely fight him again at 9st 4, it would be no problem, but I am not a 9st 4 fighter and it would give him an advantage, him being a naturally bigger man.'
