Emily Anthony had a day she'll never forget with a double hat-trick as Norwich City clinched promotion back to Division One North with a 6-0 derby romp at Broadland.

Broadland had little to play for with league safety secured, and this might have been reflected in some early lethargy which Anthony punished twice in the first five minutes. She scored two more before the interval but the second half was more even, with Frankie Birkenhead revelling in her return to the bottom diamond position in Sophie Mullan's absence.

It was not until midway through the half when Anthony made it five and then six from short corner strikes.

City are waiting to hear from the league whether or not their final game against Framingham will be played or not after they announced on Thursday that they would be unable to fulfil Sunday's re-arranged fixture.

For now they remain level on points with Dragons, who must win their game against Panthers this weekend to take the title.

It was a sad day at Old Buckenham, where the hosts played their last senior match after the historic club were forced to disband.

To their huge credit they went out playing some excellent hockey. But Norwich Dragons 2nds showed them no mercy, winning 4-1 to secure fifth place in the table.

Dragons were returning to action after a three week break and took a while to get their passing game going. They took the lead from a short corner on the stroke of half-time when a strike to the far post by Debs Smith was neatly deflected in by Lucy Hopgood.

The second half started with a good spell of Old Buckenham pressure, rewarded with a deserved equaliser.

But Dragons upped their work-rate and, with Ally Windsor-Waite becoming more influential as the game went on, the goals eventually started to come.

Laura Bailey took her goal extremely well with a reverse stick shot into the corner, Lizzie Cheesman grabbed the second and Alice Guest completed the scoring with her first league goal of the season.

North Walsham are third in the Division 2NE table after a 7-1 romp at Ipswich-East Suffolk while there were also plenty of goals at Framlingham, where the home side did manage to raise a team on Saturday to beat Sprowston 4-2.

In Division One North, Harleston Magpies 2nds finished their season with a 6-0 win at Long Sutton.

It left them two points ahead of title rivals Ipswich 2nds, who have one game left to play so can pip Magpies at the post to the championship. Both teams are assured of promotion.

Dereham ended their season with a 7-2 win over Ipswich 3rds.
